NEW Bushcraft Survival Courses

Basic Bushcraft is now offering TWO brand new courses for the new season!!!!

Firstly we now offer our father and son course (or daughter if your little princess likes to get her hands dirty), if you think back to being a child yourself, I'm sure a lot of you will have fond memories of climbing trees, making mud pies and camping out in the back yard in a cardboard den under mums old sheets, well little ones these days are no different! unfortunately safety is not what it was and kids don't get the opportunity to let loose and be free very often.

This course is a great way for the two of you (or more if the whole family would like to tag along) to spend a full weekend together where you can get stuck in, learning the likes of fire lighting,
shelter building and sleeping out under the stars, what better way to spend the day than rolling round in the mud with your cheeky monkey, your little one will receive a certificate and wear their 'Little Bush crafter' badge with pride!!!

There is no age limit on the course so if you have a sulky teenager who's generally lurking under their bed sheets most weekends and you'd like to drag them out of their comfort zone, feel free to bring them along they are very welcome, the course will be in a bit more depth for older children and they can rest easy they wont have to wear any badges!!!

For more detailed information about this course or for booking please visit www.basicbushcraft.net

The second of our new courses is our Shelter Building course, here you can spend a two night stay in the forest, you will gather all your materials yourself then put everything together to make you a cosy shelter for the night.

Along with a lesson on fire lighting, you will be set up for the night to eat, drink and be merry in very warm, cosy surroundings.  While its not the Ritz a bowl of stew, a brew and a warm bed is all we need to survive the night and have a good snooze.

There are various shelters that can be made but you will start with a basic shelter that will keep you comfortable and protect you from the elements, even a DIY phobic will be able to take on this challenge rest assured!!! After a restful sleep you will spend the next day learning a more advanced style of shelters, after a busy day you will find the shelter you prefare and that's your bed for the final night of the course.

All courses are ran with fun in mind, while you are there to learn a skill, we find that in
relaxed surroundings our clients take in more and have a more enjoyable experience than stuck in a classroom with no hands on experience.

Everything you are taught you will do yourself, you will be guided and instructed every step of the way and never left to struggle by yourself.  Our courses are a great way to learn new things and meet some new people!
